Hi everybody:

thanks to Rodolfo's font list here finally is a font table that works with
Mandrake 9.1 and others. There is a TrueType version of the TeX fonts that
can be used. ;)

You might get them from
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/fonts/cm/ps-type1/bakoma/ttf/?action=/tex-archive/fonts/cm/ps-type1/bakoma/

Actually there are only three fonts used: cmex10, cmmi10 and cmsy10. No need
to install the others if you don't want to.

To use these TeX fonts with kformula you need to install the attached font
tables. This has to be done by hand:

First go to the global kformula directory and remove the old tables. (Hint:
backup.)

	cd /usr/share/apps/kformula
	rm -f *.font *.tbl

Extract the new ones

	unzip tex-tables

This will create the files cmex10.font, cmmi10.font, cmsy10.font and
unicode.tbl.

Now start kformula and open the config dialog:

	Settings -> Configure KFormula...

there go to the second page (Math Fonts) and move all three 'Available Fonts'
to 'Used Fonts'. Press OK.

Now your kformula uses the TeX fonts to draw Greek letters, braces and such.

If you want to use formulae inside kword, too, you'll have to edit the kword
config file ~/.kde/share/config/kwordrc by hand. The reason is that there's
no 'Math Fonts' page in kword's config dialog because that's an experimental
feature.

So close any kword running and then open ~/.kde/share/config/kwordrc . You'll
find a group called '[kformula Font]' there. To this only you'll have to add
the line

usedMathFonts=cmex10,cmsy10,cmmi10

to tell kword about the math font's it should use. (Any other line in this
group that starts with usedMathFonts has to be deleted.)

Afterwards kword, too, will use the TeX fonts. Enjoy.

Cheers,
Uli
