Ah, thanks.  This has all changed since KDE3 went into the main debian
archives.

For users running debian unstable (sid), koffice is part of the usual
debian archive and you can just install it with your favourite package
management tool.

For users running debian stable (woody), koffice is also part of the
usual archive but this is an older version (1.2).  Information on
obtaining KOffice 1.3 and KDE 3.1 for debian stable (woody) is available
at http://devel-home.kde.org/~nolden/kde/README .

Can someone please update this information?
