David,

I think we should do something here. With a setup like I have (seperate
koffice dir from the rest of kde), it is very unpleasant.

When I do a cvs co koffice/kplato, I get in the root directory a new directory
with kdgantt, containing the source from kdgantt. So far so fine. I can do
the make -f Makefile.cvs and ./configure && make and everythings runs
smoothly.

But if I now go again to koffice directory and make cvs up, the kdgantt
directory get's removed again (it tells no longer in cvs).

I solved this by adding manually the ln -s to the real kdepim directory, but I
think this is too confusing for normal users.

I imagine a lot of our cvs users keep the koffice cvs dir differently from the
kde dir, so a lot may be hit by this.
The problem I see, is that this hits in make -f Makefile.cvs and not in
configure, where we normally can have some checks for this and give the user
some hints how to solve. Additional the error message is hidden in the output
list, so it isn't obvious in the first place.

Any ideas, or is it just my (maybe broken) setup? I'm not the makefile guru to
give any help here.

Philipp
