It is not so difficult.  The library is provided by the package: libart_lgpl;
pub/linux/suse/apt $ zgrep libart_lgpl_2 AptContents.SuSE-8.0-i386.gz
usr/lib/libart_lgpl_2.so.2 unsorted/libart_lgpl
usr/lib/libart_lgpl_2.so.2 System_GUI_GNOME/libart_lgpl

The package libart_lgpl is available for the (apt) components: kde and gnome2;
pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.0-i386/base $ zgrep "^libart_lgpl;" contlist.bz2
libart_lgpl;2.3.10-0;i386;kde
libart_lgpl;2.3.10-56;i386;gnome2

Which can be found at:
ftp ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.0-i386/
