1.2.1pre is fine.

1.3pre is a bit confusing.=20
Once we have a 1.3beta1, 1.3beta2 and 1.3-final, will it really be obvious =
that=20
pre < beta1? One might think pre =3D=3D RC or something like that.

In the past I used something with "post", like "post1.2", to make it clear
that it's the "after 1.2" stuff, still far from anything the stuff that wil=
l be
released as 1.3. Plus it still leaves our options open, like deciding later
that the next release is in fact 2.0 :)
