X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=koffice&m=103641288321669 To add my little comment to this long discussion. I think OO and KO don't= have=20 the same goals. OO is just cloning MsOffice : the good and the bad. Being cross platform,= they=20 have to reinvent the wheel for everything (widgets, printing system, font= s,=20 etc..).=20 KO is a more modern project. The goal is not to clone MsOffice but to cre= ate=20 something if possible better. We are also well integrated in KDE. Tomorro= w,=20 this integration could bear even more fruits : like a common collaboratio= n=20 framework for KDE, combination of PIM tools and Koffice, scripting=20 environment, database plugins to connect KSpread and the mainframe ERP, a= =20 document centric interface to be invented... The short-term goal for KOffice iis good filters and more functionalities= as=20 to expand the userbase. The long-term goal is doing thing with Koffice, y= ou=20 will never be able to do with OO.
