I think I found the answer on irc.

I was using RPMs macro %configure and that macro expands (in part) to thi=
s:

  %{?__libtoolize:[ -f configure.in ] && %{__libtoolize} --copy --force ;=
} \

Which over-writes the koffice libtool with system libtool.
