You don't need to know most of them.

PS/EPS Import works quite well since we convert them to AI and import
them via the excellent AI-import filter.
What needs some work is the EPS export: path export, dash patterns and
solid fill/stroke, bounding box etc work already, all the rest needs to
be implemented. A very interesting topic are gradients and how to
emulate them in different PostScript Levels (epecially Level < 3).

I know, brother, i know. Guess why one of the first tools was a sinus
tool. ;)
