Removing all .la files should be enough, as I said.
Check that LIB_KSYCOCA is set to -lkio in all Makefiles,
otherwise re-run Makefile.cvs
Other way to investigate: grep .la files (the installed ones in $KDEDIR/lib)
for libksycoca....
