Nobody compressed HTML files when they send them to friends, do they? f) if there is a large image in the tar, gzipping it will take an eternity, and will yeild very little compression (considering everyone uses a png or jpeg anyway) In other words, leave it as a plain tar file, which still can use cvs. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
