Because the point of KOffice is that _all_ of the components are 
very tightly integrated with each other, and can, e.g. embedded in 
each other.

That's why something like KOrganiser isn't shipped with KOffice -
- would it really be _that_ useful to embed some kind of calendar 
into a spreadsheet? The graphics stuff is no included for a similair 
reason.

This isn't immediately obvious, but very logical if you think about it.
