Hi,

I am sending this to the office.standards mailing after having read
through all of the 64 messages :-)

It seems to be that this effort is going into a similar direction ->
standardisation

Maybe some of you my find my project suggestion interesting as well
(there is a thread in the openoffice discuss mailinglist

Basically I would love to establish a library for handling proprietary
formats not only for office applications but that would also work for
other efforts such as PHP, Perl etc. so that these filters can also be
used in internet projects.

Our top secret list on standardisation has been carefully hidden at:
http://xml.openoffice.org/standardisation

You can view the discussion archives there and also details on how to
subscribe. As is stated on http://xml.openoffice.org :

"There is a office_standards mailing lists hosted on this site, intended
to foster cooperation between the various office suites. At this early
state no results have been achieved, but we are certainly excited about
the prospects. For details, look at
http://xml.openoffice.org/standardisation/"
