Summary: Knode cant fetch articles with % in message-id
Product: knode
Version: unspecified
Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: knode-devel kde org
ReportedBy: alexander skwar name
Version: 0.99.01 (using KDE 4.1.0)
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package
OS: Linux
I've been recently upgraded to KDE 4.1.0 and Knode 0.99.01 on ArchLinux. Before, I \
was using 0.10.x on AL. Since the upgrade, I noticed that Knode WAY TOO OFTEN \
reports, that it cannot find an article.
For example, the following article in de.comp.os.unix.shell:
1t48a425cci5855n3e9%sfroehli Froehlich Priv at
http://groups.google.com/groups?as_umsgid=1t48a425cci5855n3e9%25sfroehli Froehlich \
Priv at
I did a packet trace using Wireshark and saw the following:
No. Time Source Destination Protocol Info
1 0.000000 ubuntu.bei.digitalprojects.com individual.de NNTP \
Request: ARTICLE <1t48a425cci5855n3e9?roehli Froehlich Priv at>

Src Port: 42965 (42965), Dst Port: nntp (119), Seq: 1, Ack: 1, Len: 54 Network News \
Transfer Protocol ARTICLE <1t48a425cci5855n3e9?roehli Froehlich Priv at>
As you can see, it seemed to have done a
ARTICLE <1t48a425cci5855n3e9?roehli Froehlich Priv at>
request. There's no such article. The article has the following message-id:
1t48a425cci5855n3e9%sfroehli Froehlich Priv at
Notice, that Knode replaced the %sf with a "?".
