I can confirm this on KNode 0.10.4 (KDE 3.5.4 on Debian unstable).

Curiously, I only get this error with a single newsgroup on the server. Posting to \
all other groups on the same server works fine.

If that is important, the name of the newsgroup that doesn't work is tkk.niksula; \
there also exists a group tkk.niksula.tiedottaa on the same server, and I am \
subscribed to it too. However it doesn't seem to be a generic pattern that X.Y \
doesn't work when X.Y.Z exists, I tested that. \
