I can reproduce the bug. The backtrace is attached. During the crash a 
dead.letter is written on the hard disk. It contains the message from 
the inbox which would have been selected after KMail started. The 
message is enclosed in the "----------  Forwarded Message ---------" 
header.

BTW, when "Automatically sign message with PGP" is enabled then the 
dialog which asks for the OpenPGP passphrase pops up. After cancelling 
of this dialog the window with the result of the signing is shown. And 
after closing this window KMail crashes. So it seems KMail immediately 
tries to send the message for some reason. It's really strange.

But anyway, why would anyone hold some key pressed while an application 
is started if not to make this application crash. ;-)
So IMHO we should close this bug.
