I ask because here the index file is newer than the folder file which indicates everything is ok (and KMail should not exit). If the ls was performed immediately after above message then could you insert some debugging statements into KMFolder::isIndexOutdated to output the values of contInfo.lastModified() and indInfo.lastModified().
