I've tried all 4 states. Regardless what I choose there, I alway end up at 
the wrong side. If I let it order the messages so that new mails are at the 
top I end up at the bottom and vice versa ... So I always have to scroll the 
entire list to get to the unread messages. Of course only between restarts of 
kmail once I scrolled to the right end of the list the next time I get into 
the folder while kmail still runs I end up where I left the folder, but as 
soon as I close kmail after the next startup I have to scroll again ...
