Several bugs have been fixed in the sending code. Can you
please update to KDE 2.2alpha2 and see if the bug is still
present.

If the bug is still present then can you please supply more
information so that the bug can be reproduced.

has caused the attached bug report to be marked as done.

This means that you claim that the problem has been dealt with.
If this is not the case it is now your responsibility to reopen the
bug report if necessary, and/or fix the problem forthwith.

(NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I'm
talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration
somewhere. Please contact me immediately.)

Subject: KMail doesn't display error when unable to send mail
From: infiniti@affinix.com

Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)
OS: Linux 2.4.0 i686
OS/Compiler notes:

We had incorrectly setup an SMTP server that would disconnect any clients immediately \
after they connected. The error was quite obvious when doing simple telnet tests to \
port 25, but this was after much confusion about why KMail was not able to send mail. \
If KMail has any problem whatsoever in the mailing process, it should definitely \
report an error. Currently it pops up the "connecting" window and then it goes away, \
just like if a mail had been sent.

Good news is the mail wasn't lost. KMail would store the unsent mail in the outbox.
