Sorry, but you missed the "forward" filter action. So it's perfectly 
legal to have a forwarded, unread message. And if Kmail gets template 
support, it will be perfectly natural to have a replied, unread message.

Yes, that's true.
Regarding the display of unread status: Why is an icon necessary? It 
would suffice to change the font (e.g. bold).
