This is a good idea. If someone what's to implement displaying of the 
number of total messages in the folder list, he should do it this way.

You can't (or at least shouldn't) have replied to or forwarded a 
message without reading it. Therefore the replied and the forwarded 
status both imply the read status. So this decreases the maximal number 
of stati to display by one.
The attachment icon IMHO isn't really necessary as I already pointed 
out in another message. It shouldn't be implemented.
The importance flag should be put in a separate column.
So now there are only the replied and the forwarded status left. And 
these two could easily be combined into one icon if it's necessary.

I agree.

Yeah. Leave the status icon where is currently is, put the importance 
flag in a separate column and forget about the unnecessary attachment 
flag.
