Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.2.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc 2.95.2
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

using imap, when the link dies while it's idle, e.g. because a masquerading firewall \
silently drops the connection because of a timeout, kmail doesn't open a new \
connection. Instead, it just sit's there. You have to restart it to be able to read \
your mail again.

This is a very common situation: You download the list of new mail, start reading, \
find one you need to answer, compose the answer and send it off. Meanwhile the imap \
connection through the firewall times out and fails, and you cannot go on reading \
your mail. Very annoying!

best regards,
	Matthias
