Package: kmail
Version: 1.2.2 (using KDE 2.2.0 CVS >=20010503)
Severity: normal
Installed from:    compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.0)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.4.2
OS/Compiler notes:

Hi,

I did not see this in the list before. But maybe I just missed it. Two days
 ago I switched from KMail 2.1.1 to latest CVS version (did not change any
 config). At the same time I got problems with 1 of my accounts. Thinking that
 the server would be very slow I ignored that for a day. Today I checked with
 telnet, and I can login fine. Checking with ethereal I saw that the server
 does not support APOP

+OK Microsoft POP3 Server Version: 5.5.1875.185.18 ready
 <155.1413439392@maxis.net.my>
 APOP zillah d44324b6b4689b4c6a7006060d1f504a
 -ERR APOP not supported.
 QUIT
 +OK

Was there a change between 2.1.1 and CVS in this (or did my provider change
 things). Even if APOP is not supported by my provider, it would be handy to
 pop-up an error message instead of just waiting for the timeout :) Also kio
 comes back with answer 0 for this account, just in case this helps.

kio (Scheduler): Scheduler::_doJob protocol=pop3
kio (Slave): got answer 0
