Sorry for the last message. Fingers slipped and somehow kmail sent it right 
away.

well, there are lots of these (~1000) :

kmail	5598	mxs	45r	REG	3,5	1736	83031	
/home/mxs/.kde/tmp-kankoku/kmailJfLFJb.tmp (deleted)

with differing numbers and filenames, but none of these files actually exist 
in that directory.

This time it did not give me an error-message, but rather just crashed when I 
tried to get new mail.
