Then maybe we should introduce something like an online and an offline 
mode. This would also be good for people who use interval checking for 
new messages which should only be executed if the system is online 
because otherwise it will obviously fail (or cause an automatic 
dial-up).
BTW, I don't like the idea of a special offline mode. But blocking the 
loading of non-local URLs would really be a good thing.
