I can't reproduce this because for me it's not possible to create an
account with a blank name field. Such an account is automatically
called 'noname' if I press the OK button. So it seems that this bug has
been fixed already. Therefore I will close this bug report.

In order to fix your configuration you have to edit the configuration
file of KMail. It can be found in $KDEHOME/share/config/kmailrc. Search
for the account with the blank name and change the name to something
non-blank.

Ingo

Subject: kmail account configuration crash
From: martin.dahlberg@home.se

Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.1 )
Severity: normal
Installed from: Other
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-79)
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Redhat 7.1 Seawolf

This bug concerns Kmail 1.2 using KDE 2.1.1 included in Redhat 7.1 Seawolf. This can \
bug can be reproduced by me.

I choose Settings/Configuration/Network and by misstake added a account with a \
totally blank name field, type: pop, folder: Inbox. When I later tried to edit this \
account by pressing the Modify button (or by double-clicking the account line) KMail \
crashes and causes signal 11 (SIGSEV) which is catched by The KDE Crash Handler. If I \
try to remove the account by pressing the remove button I get an error message from \
KMail saying "Unable to locate account". This is strange since KMail is working fine \
with this account, I just can't configure the account without crashing.

Can this crash be caused because I left the name field totally blank (null) and \
because this is allowed in KMail?

Please don't hesitate to contact me if additional information is needed, and thanks \
for a great desktop!

Martin Dahlberg
