At least usually newsletters and mailing lists have a better unique 
identifier, than the address of the sender.

Are you sure, that there are really no additional newsletter specific 
headers, like X-Loop, X-Mailinglist, etc. when you look at the source of the 
mails? If not, then I consider that a poor design of the newsletter server.
