On the subject "leave mail in local inbox":
Could you please explain why it should make sense to leave some mail in 
the local inbox while other mail is moved to other folders in your home 
directory (by procmail or KMail or whatever)? Just because Pine does so 
is IMHO no reason.

If you really need this, how about implementing a "move mail back to 
local inbox" and providing us with the necessary patch.
