Hmm, perhaps the problem is that KMail actually always uses the UIDL command
even if it is configured to delete email from server. UIDL is an optional
command and some pop servers don't support this. I guess this pop server may
have a buggy UIDL implementation.

For me it's not a high priority to support such pop servers (they are rare
and I simply don't recommend using them). If you want to try disable
the use of the UIDL command in KMail kmacctexppop.cpp is the place to do it.

But there are complications for example UIDL is useful even when deleting
mail from the server, because it enables the prevention of downloading
duplicate messages after the connection to the server has been prematurely
lost while downloading a (long) list of messages.

BFN,
Don.

(NB: If you are a system administrator and have no idea what I'm
talking about this indicates a serious mail system misconfiguration
somewhere. Please contact me immediately.)

Subject: kmail receives strange messages
From: dule@placeformedia.com

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.1.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: RedHat RPMs
Compiler: Not Specified
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified

Sometimes KMail do not get POP3 messages properly. Instead of message i get something \
like this:

Content-Type:
Status: RO
X-Status: O

1 685b9cca8b19904c94b56a827d164fe6
2 183e526d19edbef9edd331efed0af2cb
3 5de8ba307cdf4a8db7873c8380d9e409
4 7289e865cfb33a238d75c27ac113c0cf

And that is all. I am sure that problem is with KMail since i do not delete mail from \
server, and later collect it all with Netscape Messenger, which get all email \
correctly.
