I think that is what he said. In pine for example, the default name for the 
folder containing (optional) copies of the sent mail is "sent-mail". But 
you're free to do whatever you want. Eudora puts all sent mail by default in 
a folder named "Out". I believe he decided to use "outbox" as a name in mutt 
(can a mutt user say what's the default?). 

I believe KMail should have a mechanism which asks a user if mails in a 
folder named "outbox" be sent out *if* an .outbox.index wasn't present and 
had to be created. Or when the .outbox.index has to be recreated from scratch.

Yes, he still has a part of the "fault", but thanks to this we learned that a 
need exists.
