Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (using KDE 2.1.9 >= 20010310)
Severity: normal
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 19991030 (prerelease)
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.2
OS/Compiler notes:

I tried to post this message on the kde-user list since just recently after working \
OK for a while, kmail has decided to lose most all of the available
bookmoarks. Key shortcuts (those few I tried) don't
seem to want to do anything.
I am experiencing difficulties with kmail under kde 2.1. Actually I am
running it in Gnome at the moment, because kde 2.1 will not start on
this new athlon based system my brother and I put together a few days
ago. Lately kde 2.1 has been very flaky - konqueror won't display urls,
other stuff won't work, and now kmail just decided to not give me any
more choices on its toolbar other than Print and Undo. Most possible
choices in the menus have just disappeared. In order to compose this
message, for instance, resourceful me had to find a message from the
mailing list and click on the <kde-user mailto in the To: subject
header. But of course, that is a little inconvenient.

Some functions still work, such as those on the right click mouse menu
(delete, mark read, etc).

Anyone know what might have gone wrong? I'm now cvsup'ing and compiling
the snapshots in hopes they will help. Also how can I bring my kde up
to snuff? 2.0 beta2 seemed to be OK, but since installing 2.1 things
have gone wrong and perhaps my stuff in ~/.kde are all wonky...

I've since moved ~/.kde to a backup directory in hopes that something in there was \
causing problems. Apparently it has solved some things, but kmail's toolbars are \
still misssing.
