Hm. I have found gmx to be extremely reliable. Mind you I don't use kmail
to fetch, using instead fetchmail/procmail.

regards,
Christian.

Hi,

In the last time there where some complaints about KMail with POP at GMX
accounts. I'm using GMX myself, and I did also encounter problems in the
last days. Often the POP transfer didn't start, after a while (about two
minutes) I got a message about invalid server response. Nevertheless I was
ever able to stop the fetch via the button in the status line.

But this problems seem to be depending of the time. Often I get the
problems between 8 and 9 pm, when I try to access a while later, there is
no problem at all.

GMX had some bad publicity in the German press over the last months, maybe
they have problems in the evening with their POP capacity. Web access did
work well when I had problems with KMail.

What I finally want to say is, we should not care to much about bug reports
concerning bad POP access at GMX. IMO this is a GMX problem, and often
people do not trace the conversation with the server, but they simply
assume KMail is the failing software.

Regards,
Andreas
