Package: kmail
Version: 1.2 (KDE 2.1 Beta 2)
Severity: wishlist
Installed from: Debian unstable (sid)
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 20010111 (prerelease)
OS: Linux 2.4.1-pre9 i686 (Debian Package 4:2.1-beta2-3 (testing/unstable))
As I a reading some pretty high volume mailing lists, I
have to clean up the mailing list folders in which these
list are put in my configuration pretty often to save disk
space for example.
A very nice feature would be if I could set a "messages in
this folder will expire in X days" flag for a particular
folder.
What I mean by this is, if e.g. I set "expire" for my
linux-kernel mailing list folder to 14 days, kmail will
move all messages which have been received more than 14
days ago to the Deleted Messages Folder automagically on
startup or on exit.
I think this feature should be based on the reception date
of the messages, because if (usinf the example from above)
one does not fetch mail for say 13 days, most of the
messages would probably expire by tomorrow, which would be
undesirable.
What do you think?
