Package: kmail
Version: 1.9.8 (KDE 2.1 post Beta 1)
Severity: wishlist
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.2 20000220 (Debian GNU/Linux)
OS: Linux 2.4.0-test13-pre2 i686 (Debian Package 4:2.1-20001216-1 (woody))

Hi,

just an idea: KMail like all of KDE is also targeted at new users. Those are probably not familiar
with "internet speak" like SCNR, IMHO, ";-)", <g> and the like.

Make KMail (or perhaps the whole display widget so that apps like KNode and so on can inherit
this functionality) optionally highlight these and if clicked on display a short explanation. Like the
"What's this?" bubbles in that other operating system. Set up a web form on the KMail homepage
so that people can submit explanations. Organize a submission contest, win a ferrari.

Or whatever. :-)

Anyway, I think this is an idea to think about, esp. in regard to new users. I'd certainly be willing to
submit a list of explanations (and German translations) if you like.

Thanks!
