From kmail-devel Thu Dec 14 14:11:06 2000 From: 520036221289-0001 () t-online ! de (Sven Carstens) Date: Thu, 14 Dec 2000 14:11:06 +0000 To: kmail-devel Subject: Regarding imap kio slave X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kmail-devel&m=97680310909416 Just encountered some 'minor' problems: Beware if you use procmail and an imap server (in my case uw-imap). Using procmail to deliver the mail into different imap folders on the server is NOT working in a proper fashion. On the next status or select the server might notice that somebody has been playing with its mailboxes and will assign a new uidvalidity to the box. He will reassign a new validity each time the box is handled until it is opened in read-write mode and can be updated by the server. The kio slave is not opening it in read-write mode normally. That will get the slave a new uid validity on each new select or status. All urls provided by the slave are then strictly speaking invalid as the next open might turn up a new validity. - Select the manipulated box in konqueror - Change to another box - Change back to first box and compare the validity Summary: Any handling of the mailboxes by any program but the imap server might lead to troubles (as the locking won't work it might truncate the box= !). New version of kio_slave won't check the status on a selected box and will ignore the change in the validity.
