Hi!
I deleted all 3 messages in a folder selectin all 3 for deleting.
THe number of unread messages changed from 3 to 1.
I closed down kmail
I had to delete the .<folder>.index
startup showed 1 unread message again
had to click on the folder to get the right display.
BTW no crash while doing so
