The KMail index format has been changed from version 1.1.39, to 1.1.40. 

People who are keeping up to date with the CVS version should make sure they 
compact all their folders before upgrading. Also the state of messages 
(read/unread) might get messed up.

Sorry about the inconvenience, it's not worth fixing this until another 
'stable' version is released and there is due to be one more index upgrade 
before that.
