I frequently read and send pgp signed/encrypted e-mails with kmail. This=20 typically works fine. The problem: There is one kombination that does not work fully and that's=20 reading pgp-mime e-mails that contain a combined signed+enc block (see 6.2 = in=20 http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3156.txt). The method used by kmail when sending= a=20 pgp-mime signed+enc e-mail (see 6.1 in the same rfc) of course works=20 perfectly. What I mean by "not working fully" is that the signature check fails with a= =20 yellow box with the following text: Message was signed with unknown key. The validity of the signature cannot be verified. Status: Error: Signature not verified Two indications that would make you think it would work: * If I copy-n-paste the encrypted block into "gpg --decrypt" the signature= =20 checks out ok =20 * Kmail succeeds with a similar enc+signed block "inline", not mime. Clients that use the "6.2" method from rfc3156 when sending pgp/gpg-mime=20 include Emacs/Gnus and Tunderbird/Enigmail. /Peter --nextPart4380574.R1Jq3zq0lt Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.6 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQBIvp5zWkaLDtAygc8RAv2VAJ4/UzvBlVj1N5Ri6Zc3PgKxv8k6XACeNlMm TzflFtS6diNp7FNgROEZqP4= =XT6v -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --nextPart4380574.R1Jq3zq0lt-- --===============1403493341== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ KMail developers mailing list KMail-devel@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kmail-devel --===============1403493341==--
