As an outsider who doesn't know much about KSSL or QCA, I can say the 
following: SSL support in kdelibs is currently broken. One person is working 
on fixing that, I suggest you contact him, he might know more (Andreas 
Hartmetz <ahartmetz at gmail dot com>). Maybe you can work together on that, 
but I really can't tell. 
I don't think SSL support will be ready for 4.0, but probably for 4.1.
