------- One half of this has already been fixed (as of KDE 3.5.6, Kmail \
1.9.6, in Kubuntu Feisty 7.04). I just made some experiments, and:

1. A message body is now displayed without needing to download the \
attachments (good).

2. However, when replying to a message, its attachments are downloaded \
before the compose window appears (there is that progress dialog indicating \
"please wait until the message has finished downloading") (not good). \
