Okay. I've done some more tests. At least we have a fix for the crashes. 
I'll keep the changes on my system for a while. If no better solution is 
coming up, I'd like to see the filtering fixed at least before the tagging 
of 3.5.7.
Currently it's nearly impossible to manually filter a bunch of messages with 
Ctrl-J. It's good luck that at least applying a single filter works without 
any problems which is important for the spam filter training.
