I can confirm the exact same scenario as in comment 4, using dIMAP and no procmail. \
Needless to say, this is a huge problem for me.

Fedora Core 6
kdepim-3.5.5-0.3.fc6
Qt: 3.3.7
KDE: 3.5.5-1.6.fc6
KMail: 1.9.5
