Summary: kmail system tray error, unread mails marked as read.
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.9.5
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: richard zinkweb co uk

Version: 1.9.5 (using KDE 3.5.5, Kubuntu (edgy) 4:3.5.5-0ubuntu3)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.17-10-386

New emails come into my inbox. When I have finished with them they are moved to a separate \
folder. This means that my inbox is often empty. I have setup the system tray to always \
display, and as new email comes in it should display the number of unread emails.

However, if the inbox is empty, and the message list is currently set to display the inbox, \
when an email comes in it is automatically selected and appears in the preview pane. It is then \
marked as read. The system tray shows no new mail.

I suggest emails are not marked as "read" when in the preview pane until the kmail window is \
the active window.

For info I'm using POP only at the moment.
