Summary: Messages get lost in! ("Unknown" for sender and date)
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
ReportedBy: hippo tzi de
Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.5)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
Contents of messages (emails) in KMail that were previoulsy displayed and saved \
correctly disappear. The subject of the message changes to "No Subject" and the date \
and sender of the message to "unknown". Information about the email, like if it has \
been answered, if it has a signature (GPG, etc) or if I have replied to it, remain \
(you can still see the corresponding icons in front of the message in KMail's list \
view). The size of the message changes to something around "98 B".
This seems to be irregardless of the way the messages were received (be it IMAP, POP \
or something else) and independent of the kind of message or the file system the \
mailbox is on (ext2 on one computer and ext3 on another one for me). Restarting KMail \
does not help. I still an entries for those mails in KMail's list view but the \
contents of the message is gone. Mutt shows those messages as empty, too.
This error seems to occur a large bunch of messages get moved around or when you \
change KMail's folder structure und "Local Folders" (from inside KMail).
I have lost a bunch of messages that were pretty important to me as I hadn't seen the \
need to make an external copy of all my important emails when I got a "Saved" Folder \
for that purpose in KMail. So, I'm pretty upset with KMail and I hope this bug won't \
be taken lightly. _______________________________________________
