The way I do it (though by no means the correct or best way) is to put the mail in \
the cur/ subdirectory of a maildir folder. Quit KMail and remove the \
.foldername.index* files (for the folder that you moved the message into). Then \
restart KMail.

FWIW, I get no crash with that message.
