------- I find left and right arrow keys counter-intuitive, too. I would have never \
figured this out myself. Multi-select in KMail's folder pane, Thunderbird's + \
Evolution's message pane are done via shift+down; multi-row selection in spreadsheets \
is also done via shift+down.

However, KMail's scrolling feature in the message preview pane via up/down arrows is \
really neat and you can't map both functions onto the same keys. \
