For some months and minor updates, kmail becomes increasingly lazy. When switching to kmail with <ALT><TAB>, kmail needs about 1,5 seconds to redraw its window contents. Other apps do not behave that way.

kmail is a really powerful and helpful application I use for years, thanks to all developers. But such an issue together with other problems belonging responsiveness of kmail (e.g. blocking of reading and writing while getting mails) are impairing kmails usability in a very unpleasant way and make me more often think about alternatives.
