           Summary: kmail fails to thread emails with non-unique message and
                    thread id's
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.9.1
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: glen delfi ee

Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE 3.5.2, PLD Linux Distribution)
Compiler: gcc version 3.3.6 (PLD Linux)
OS:                Linux (i686) release 2.6.13.4-1

i have configured my Nagios to add Message-Id and In-Reply-To headers to create fake \
threading of mails of the similar problem event. this means i have lots of mails with \
same Message-Id and In-Reply-To (plus additionally Message-Id == In-Reply-To!).

this however confuses kmail in some cases and ordering thread by date doesn't always \
show messages in "thread" by date.

also in some cases it can't find thread at all if folder has enabled threading. \
switching threading off and on, makes kmail to "see" the thread again.

so the threading looks like (sort by date):
+ 16:29:44 ** PROBLEM alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is WARNING **
++ 16:21:45 ** PROBLEM alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is WARNING **
++ 16:24:44 ** RECOVERY alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is OK **
++ 16:32:46 ** RECOVERY alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is OK **

while it should be displayed (by my expetation) as:
+ 16:21:45 ** PROBLEM alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is WARNING **
++ 16:24:44 ** RECOVERY alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is OK **
++ 16:29:44 ** PROBLEM alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is WARNING **
++ 16:32:46 ** RECOVERY alert - gehenna.example.com/loadavg is OK **

NB! and I have threading by subject disabled!
