Summary: Autoindent wrapped lines in the composer
           Product: kmail
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: andreas.nolda staff hu-berlin de

Version: (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

The following composer feature would be most useful for editing plain-text e-mails:

When breaking a line by automatic word wrap or by a manual hard line break, honour \
the line prefix and indentation of the preceding line similarly to Emacs' Filladapt \
minor mode, i.e.:

1. If the preceding line starts with a prefix like "1. ", "* ", "-- " etc. then skip \
the prefix by white space in the new line, e.g.

 * preceding line
   new line

2. Else, if the preceding line is indented without a prefix then intend the new line \
by the same amount of white space, e.g.

   preceding line
   new line
