My current email size is limited to 5 MB, due to my ISP I think.

I attached a 3.9 MB file and tried to send the mail - but it was refused, as being over the limit. After moving the mail from output to draft folder the size of the attackment was shown as to be 5.1 MB.

Sending the mail directly from the ISP's webpage by uploading the attachment worked fine - 3.9 MB.

Sending the same attachment (3.9 MB) with thunderbird to self, and looking at the received message with Kmail, the size was again 5.1 MB.

Receiving: After saving the attachment to disk, it is again 3.9 MB.
The md5sum of the saved attachment is the expected one.

Is it a changed attachment - or only the length description changed by Kmail?
