Summary: incorrect character encoding declaration for attachment
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.7.2
          Platform: Debian stable
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: wolfgang jeltsch net

Version: 1.7.2 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian stable Packages
OS: Linux

If I add an attachment with a text MIME type (like text/html), the attachment's \
charset is set to the charset of the mail body. This is, of course, nonsensical. In \
addition, I can find no way to change the charset indication of an attachment.

For XML files (including XHTML files), KMail could look at the XML declaration to \
find out the files correct charset but a coherent solution for all text/* files \
would, of course, be far better. _______________________________________________
